Unhinged Student Theatre Company

unhinge (ʌnˈhɪndʒ)
verb (transitive)
to disrupt or unsettle (a process or state of affairs)

Each year Southwest High School students independently produce, direct, and perform four plays in the Chris Fisher Black Box Theatre, under the umbrella of the Unhinged Student Theatre Company. Plays are proposed annually by directing teams comprised of students in their junior year of high school. Southwest High School arts faculty select four of these proposed plays each spring for production during the following school year. In the 2016–2017 school year productions include The Miss Firecracker Contest, Barefoot in the Park, You Can’t Take it With You, and The Children’s Hour

The Black Box Theatre

An entirely new Black Box Theatre is one of the many benefits of the massive construction project at SWHS. Located adjacent to the auditorium and above the new Green Room and Costume Shop, it fully integrates the Theatre Deparment.  It is truly a flexible space that can be used for innovative theatre by our students and staff!
