The Southwest High School Performing Arts Council is proud to announce the date for our annual gala fundraiser, Hot Notes on a Cold Night Cabaret: Saturday February 9, 2019 overlooking Bde Mka Ska (AKA Lake Calhoun).
Hot Notes on a Cold Night Cabaret celebrates the high-quality Theatre, Dance, Choral, Orchestra, Guitar and Band programs at Minneapolis’s largest public high school. This year, it will cost over $100,000.00 to fund the Performing Arts at Southwest. Minneapolis Public Schools pays approximately $2,500 of that. Hot Notes is where we close that gap.
To succeed, we depend on the support and generosity of wonderful partners like you. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly to providing Performing Arts education to over 1,000 Southwest students. No child is turned away, regardless of experience, ability, challenge or need. The Performing Arts are for everyone.
Studies reliably show that participation in the Performing Arts increases performance in other academic areas; as well as helping students find their identity, voice and confidence. We’re determined to continue Southwest’s long tradition of top-quality Performing Arts—and the benefits they provide—for our students and community. But we need your help.
If you’re interested in being a sponsor, we’d love to talk to you! Our goal is to underwrite the cost of the show, passing more of the money raised on to the kids. Multiple sponsorship packages are available, and your investment is an affordable way to show your support for Southwest while getting your company, product or event in front of over 400 engaged, supportive community members. Please contact Paul Pirner for more details.
The Southwest High School Performing Arts Council is a 501(c)3 organization.

Coming to Hot Notes this year?
Just text “HotNotes” to 52182, and you’ll receive a secure link to our Hot Notes Website to buy your tickets, register, bid and more.
We’re using the popular Givesmart online system again this year.
In an effort to improve your experience, drink tickets will free up the bartenders and speed up the lines at the bars. Also, look forward to exciting new food options.
Also in response to your feedback, there will be no live auction in 2019, creating more time for our performers. Look for larger-ticket items that would traditionally go in the live auction in our improved silent auction. Be sure to preview a week ahead!
Be sure to look for a new collection of Great Gatherings, where SW parents throw parties or events, sell tickets to them at Hot Notes, and the proceeds go to the Performing Arts departments. If you’d like to throw a Great Gathering, please contact Laura Heard at email@example.com.
Our teachers are assembling their Burning Desires, one big item that will make a huge difference in their classes. You may call this a “fund a need” if you’ve been to other galas.
